The Magazine

A magazine created by veterans, for the veteran community—filled with practical guidance, lived experience, and the clarity you need to navigate the VA system with confidence.
The Why Behind the Magazine
The FTV|BTV magazine was born out of a need for clarity—real answers to real questions that veterans and their families face every day. After years of helping fellow servicemembers understand VA disability ratings and benefits, Tom Hurley saw the need for a resource that went deeper than blog posts and one-on-one conversations. The magazine became a natural extension of the mission: to equip, educate, and empower those navigating the often confusing VA system.
What You’ll Find Inside
Every issue is carefully crafted to deliver practical knowledge with a personal touch. From simplified breakdowns of VA policies to step-by-step guides and frequently overlooked benefits, the content is always focused on helping readers take action. We also include real stories from veterans and caregivers, updates on VA changes, and tools to help you advocate for yourself and your loved ones. The result? A guide that informs, encourages, and connects—one issue at a time.
